HERITAGE BANK TOOWOOMBA ROYAL SHOW
3rd NATIONAL EXHIBITION OF PHOTOGRAPHY 2012


1. Images must have a photographic origin and entrants must hold the copyright for all segments of the images.

2. A maximum of 4 images (files) may be submitted in each section.

3. FORMAT: The maximum horizontal dimension is 1024 pixels and the maximum vertical dimension is 768 pixels. Each image file should be in the sRGB JPEG format and a maximum of 2 Mb in file size allowing for minimum compression only. Please make your submission on CD or DVD.

4. COLOUR PROFILES: It must be assumed that the images will be viewed on RGB displays and thus images should be either tagged (no ICC profile) or tagged with the sRGB profile.

  1. FILE NAMES: [This is not to be confused with the Image Title]

The section/s entered will be indicated by the following code/s:- Open Pictorial = C, People = P, Nature = N, Creative = S and Youth sections entered:- Youth Open = Y and Youth Creative = X.

Each filename must consist of your Section entered, Image number, postcode, your two initials and .jpg.
For example C14021JS.jpg (This would be Open Pictorial section, first image as per the entry form, Post Code for Kippa Ring and the initials of the entrant, John Smith.)

The filename must have 12 characters. Do not include any other information in the filename or on the Image such as underscores, hyphens, or .jpg etc. If two or more entrants have the same filename, the organiser will make the necessary adjustment.

6. Images may be colour or monochrome, have a photographic origin and entrants must hold the copyright for all segments of the images.

Digitally complete this (Word doc.) form with your entry information. See the instructions below. When complete burn the Word Doc. and your image files, titled just as are written on this entry form and place the files in a folder for each section entered) [eg. Nature image files are to be in the folder named NATURE.] to CD/DVD. If payng by Credit Card, please print a hard copy of the completed entry form and enclose it with the CD/DVD.
 
Entry fees are $11 per section for Adult entrants and $5.00 per section for Youth entrants.

Persons attending a prinary or secondary school are regarded as "Youth" entrants.
Please be sure to enter your date of birth on the entry form.
 
Make all cheques payable to the "Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland".
 
Post completed CD/DVD, printed entry form and as the case may be, cheque or Money Order etc for payment to :-

DIGITAL FILE CREATION INSTRUCTIONS
Nature photography depicts living, untamed animals and uncultivated plants in a natural habitat, geology and the wide diversity of natural phenomena, from insects to icebergs. Photographs of animals which are domesticated, caged or under any form of restraint, as well as photographs of cultivated plants are ineligible.
Minimal evidence of humans is acceptable for nature subjects, such as barn owls or storks, adapting to an environment modified by humans, or natural forces, like hurricanes or tidal waves, reclaiming it. The original image must have been taken by the photographer, whatever photographic medium is used. Any manipulation or modification to the original image is limited to minor retouching of blemishes and must not alter the content of the original scene. After satisfying the above requirements, every effort should be made to use the highest level of artistic skill in all nature photographs.
NATURE
Creative covers photographs that display a novel effect because of an unusual combination of objects and/or viewpoint. They are images that have been modified during or after exposure. The image must have a photographic base with the original work being exposed by the entrant
OPEN
Any subject that is treated pictorially, embodying the elements of good design, arrangement or composition, which reflects the personal interpretation of the photographer.
CREATIVE
Any image involving one ore more persons at work, play or at rest. Portrait of a person or persons may be included.
